Day Trip to Frankfort, KY

Image
A day trip to Frankfort, KY never disappoints. Generally we take a tour of the capitol buildings, but this time we chose to explore the town. Frankfort is home to many historic churches and houses listed on the National Historic Register.  It’s also home to Poor Richards, a super cool bookstore with attached coffee shop. Take in the many bold & colorful murals throughout the town as well.  It’s a place worth savoring.

Kentucky’s #1 Fall Destination

Where can you find hundreds of skeletons, grab a delicious pumpkin spice coffee, a bestselling book, a sweet treat, walk through a giant corn maze, take a walking ghost tour, and stay in a restored historic house, all in the same day? Look no further than the beautiful and charming town of Cynthiana, Kentucky! Established in 1793, Cynthiana boasts the second-largest collection of cast iron storefronts in the state of Kentucky, as well as gorgeous historic homes & churches, and is a great example of living history. Grab a coffee at The Main Cup and take a walk along the “Sidewalk Subway” to enjoy the beautiful historic architecture Cynthiana has to offer. If spooky history is your thing, be sure to take a walking ghost tour and visit the historic Rohs Opera House, which is said to be haunted, according to several paranormal investigators who have visited. I have personally felt the presence of a man near the restrooms on a few occasions. Will you? Round out your adventure by visitin
